The rumors of LAKAS-CMD and KAMPI merging has rung the air for quite some time now. But I guess the wait is up as the silence is finally broken.
Early this morning, I received a personal email from my friend who lives in
Marikina City. According to his mail, the Marikina community will be hosting a rally for prayer and peace not only for the upcoming election but also the actual merging ceremony.
YES. The wait is over. LAKAS and KAMPI will be legitimizing everything tomorrow morning (May 28, 2009) and supporters will be coming from different communities and organizations at Freedom Park in Marikina City. The rally will start at about 5:30-6:00 AM and shall continue until the said conglomerating conference starts.
Aside from the expected religious sects, this event shall be participated by Marikina citizens, student groups, and Marikina’s Vendor Association. Former Mayor-now-MMDA chairman Bayani Fernando will be gracing the event as well.
Well as a believer of LAKAS, this is definitely a big leap in their party’s reputation. But what is more important is to pray for God’s guidance for the upcoming 2010 elections.
We all know how many president-aspirants we have and a long list still remains unconfirmed. Perhaps this is the reason why we need to support this gathering to help our country decide an efficient leader. Maybe not an Obama, but maybe those built with steel arms.
